‘S mores a North American Tradition and one of most fun things to with kids. - ‘S mores een Noord Amerikaanse Traditie en een van de leukste dingen om met kinderen te doen On one of my past trips, I stayed at a lodge called  Cathedral Mountain Lodge   in   Yoho National Park , Canada. The main lodge had a huge outside fireplace and one evening after dining I learned about and how to make ‘s mores from an American family. The kids where really enthusiastic to teach me how to make it. This moment created a great memory one you will not forget easily.  Yesterday,  August 10 it was “National S’mores Day” but if you missed it, as I did, there is no reason to wait until next year.  S’Mores are the one of the most popular North American desserts and practically the quintessential campfire treat. Nelson Mandela Day Today, July 18, 2018, 100 years ago a small boy was born named Rolihlahla Dalibhunga. This little African boy became a great man named Nelson Mandela and died on December 5, 2013. Nelson Mandela  was a South African anti-apartheid warrior and politician. In a nutshell: From 1944 Mandela was involved in the fight of the African National Congress (ANC) against the apartheid regime in South Africa. As leader of the military branch of the ANC he was arrested in 1963 and was sentenced to life imprisonment. From 1964-1982 Mandela was imprisoned on  Robben Island . After 27 years of imprisonment, he was released in 1990 by order of Premier F.W. de Klerk and the ANC became legalized. Together with President F.W. de Klerk, Mandela received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 ...

Food Carts het groeiende fenomeen in Nederland - Food Carts the growing phenomenon in the Netherlands   Zoals de meeste mensen inmiddels wel weten of doorhebben, komen er heel wat nieuwe dingen overwaaien vanuit de Amerika zoals, McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, Starbucks etcetc Het volgende fenomeen is inmiddels in Nederland aan een fikse opmars bezig:  Food Carts (Voedselkarretjes/trucks), van die kleine rijdende restaurants. Je ziet ze inmiddels steeds vaker in het Nederlandse straatbeeld en er worden Food Cart Festivals gehouden. En met deze Food Carts is ook de naam Streetfood geintroduceerd.

Wyoming Biedt Meer Dan Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Park & Devils Tower  - Wyoming Offers More Than Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Park & Devils Tower Wie Wyoming hoort, denkt eigenlijk altijd aan Yellowstone National Park, geisers en hotsprings. En dan zullen de meesten ook nog wel Grand Teton National Park en Devil's Tower kennen. Maar natuurlijk is Wyoming meer dan dat. Samen met Montana , South Dakota en North Dakota vormt het eigenlijk het echte "Wilde Westen". Wyoming is tijdens de Louisiana Purchase in 1803 gevormd en heeft de bijnaam "The Equality State" gekregen, dit omdat het als eerste het vrouwenkiesrecht erkende in 1869. Pas in 1890 werd Wyoming officieel de 44ste staat van Amerika. Het wordt ook wel de "Cowboy State" genoemd simpel weg omdat ze de meeste rodeo's hebben maar ook door klinkende namen als Buffalo Bill, Butch Cassidy, Kid Curry en The Sundance Kid.
