Lake Ossiach, Carinthia – Always Good  & Enough to do. - Ossiacher See, Kärnten – Altijd Fijn  & Genoeg te doen. Setting sun at Lake Ossiach Lake Ossiach/Ossiacher See is one of the many lakes Carinthia is famous for, only Lake Wörth/Wörthersee and Lake Millstatt/Millstäter See are bigger.  I myself find it more beautiful than the other two, it’s quieter, less boats and more accessible. The lake has a summer temperature of around 28 degrees and therefor popular for water-sport activities. The Tiebel River is the biggest provider of water to the lake. It lies at the southern foot of the Nock Mountains which are part of the Gurktaler Alps. The lake has 5 major cities which all are depending on tourism: Annaheim, Sattendorf, Bodensdorf, Steindorf and Ossiach. The first four lie on the northern shore and Ossiach on the southern shore of the lake.  Along the lake you’ll find hotels, apartments and campgrounds Ossiach is the hometown of the Ossiach Abbey from which...

The Netherlands, A Tiny Country Rich in Castles - Nederland, Een Kikkerlandje Rijk aan Kastelen The Netherlands is a small country, has many inhabitants and we do often speak before we think, but what the Netherlands also has is a lot of history and many castles. And yesterday I was able to get acquainted with one of those castles during my bike ride. One of the most beautiful castles in the Netherlands:  Het Muiderslot The castle was built at the entrance of the river Vecht in the Zuiderzee, where nowadays the IJmeer lies. Immediately at the castle lies Muiden with its harbor. Little is known about the very beginning of the castle and it is suspected that the spot where this large square water castle was built, has been a toll booth where tolls were levied on ships that made use of the waterway that connects Amsterdam to the east of the Netherlands. . The history of Castle Muiderslot goes back to the end of the 13th century. The castle is a...

Een Top Weg: Grande Strada delle Dolomiti - Dwars door Zuid-Tirol en de Dolomieten.

Hit The Road Jack!!! De Grote Dolomieten Weg. Andiamo!!! The Route: The Grande Strada della Dolomiti. Stukje Historie.
